This kitchen remodel is on Ladd Ave. in Ladd's Addition, an inner southeast historic district of Portland, Oregon. It is Portland's oldest planned residential development, and one of the oldest in the western United States. The goal with this remodel was bring a modern open concept design and marry it with the historic aesthetic and craftsmanship. I wanted to create a space that had all the luxuries of the modern amenities but feel like it could have been original to the house. It's beautiful and timeless. If you scroll through the photos at the end you'll see the original design and how closed off the kitchen was to the dining room. Also you'll see there was a beautiful built in that I did not destroy but moved to another location in the house so that we could preserve as much historical architecture as possible.
